The good place

“It’ll be fun” you think as you realize knowing what the good place is all about, you’ll beat the system. 

You open your eyes, a sign “welcome to the good place” read right infront of you. “Tahani, come in” you hear the familiar Ted Danson voice, coming from Michael’s mouth. You stand up, “i ended up in tahani’s body” you whisper. 

He goes explaining how you got here. You smile, pretending to really be Tahani”. He introduces you to everybody, he tells you, you have a soulmate and introduces you to a monk with a vow of silence. Maybe Jason is Kim you think. 

He calls on Karen, she looks confused but does everything Michael asks her too. “Maybe she is Kim” you ask yourself. 

You wait until you are alone. You call on Karen. You ask her “do you know who I really am?” You ask her, she nods, “and you are?” You ask her. “I am Karen” she pauses, “no, i am karen” she is trying to say Kim, but can’t. “You are Kim” you say and she nods. 

You explain ti her what’s going on. And tell her you can beat the system. 

For months, you both play the game. As hard as it has been, you pretend to be tahani. Until one day, Eleanor realices the truth. “Holy fork” she says “we are in the bad place” she goes on explaining. Michael laughs. But you start laughing too, you come clean. 

Michael can’t believe it, but calls on Karen, and asks her, she tells the truth again. “No problem, once we reboot, everything will be solved” Michael says as he snaps his fingers.

You open your eyes, a sign “welcome to the good place” read right infront of you. “Tahani, come in” some old guy says. You walk towards his office, he introduces himself as Michael. He explains how you arrived in the good place. You are so happy, you have always been good, even if you have been on your sister’s shadow. 

Your former self is gone, you are now Tahani in mind and soul. And you are trapped for all eternity.
