… kicks you out

“Let me explain” you told Pauline. But she kicked you out and threatened to call the police. While outside you realized you didn’t  have the notebook. It wasn’t a big deal. You still had your powers. You could quickly transform back into your toddler self. But you decided to have some fun.

You hid around the bushes and quickly transformed into Jennifer, Pauline’s long lost crush from high school. You rang the bell. Pauline opened the door and couldn’t believe her eyes. “Jennifer?” She asked. “Yes, i’ve been looking for you for years” she said. “I would invite you to come in, but I am having a bit of a break down” she said. “What’s wrong?” You asked. She broke into tears, “ I can’t find my daughter, and there was a strange woman in her bed” you couldn’t go on with this charade. You hugged her and took her in. As you closed the door, you told her to look at you. She was still crying, so you transformed back into your toddler form, “mommy look at me” you said.

She was still sobbing. “Am i going crazy?” She said. “No mommy, but i will explain” you told her everything, and by everything, I mean everything. She wouldn’t have believed you. But she had just seen you transform. “But i am happy being your daughter, and I will love being your daughter forever” you said. “Here” you handed her the notebook. “Wish me to be your real daughter, I will lose my former memories, my shapeshifting powers, and the notebook will be yours to keep”.

She took a big breath and asked you “is that really what you want?”. “Yes mommy, i want to live my life as a girl, as a daughter, and an older sister for Sandy” you explained. She grabbed the notebook, ripped it into pieces and threw it to the trash, “well that’s what we have now” she said.

She was right, you still have your shape shifting powers, and you’ll have to be more careful now. But the fact that your mom knows everything and chose to keep you was amazing.

The next day she took you to school. Where you got to talk to your friends and play with them during recess.

This is turning out to be better that you could have ever thought.

THE END
